Quadrivium

Wind orchestra Auletes is the largest orchestra of Quadrivium. It started out as a wind ensemble, but has grown these last few years to an orchestra of approximately 50 members, playing wind instruments and percussion. Every year Auletes performs a varied and challenging repertoire.

Occupation

Normally Auletes has about 50 musicians, but for certain project concerts the orchestra is extended with guest musicians, up till 90 musicians.
New musicians are always welcome. Except wind instruments and percussion players, string bass and harp also suit the occupation of a modern wind orchestra.

Repertoire

The music that Auletes performs is very varied, from classical pieces to film and musical music. But the main focus is on symphonic and original wind music.

Conductor

Since October 2008, Jos Schroevers is conductor of Auletes. Jos started his musical career studying percussion at Sweelinck conservatory Amsterdam. After he got a job as timpani player at the FKKL military band, he started the conducting program at the conservatory in Tilburg. He completed his bachelor in both conducting and percussion. After that, Jos continued his education and completed his masters in conducting at the Royal Conservatory The Hague.

Rehearsals

Auletes rehearses every Thursday evening from 19:30h until 22.15h. The rehearsals take place in the Grote Muziekzaal, Bunker 1.69.
